Legal Politics and the Urgency of Simultaneous Regional Election In the Middle of the Covid Pandemic 19

Abstract

The implementation of the 2020 Pilkada Simultaneously caused a polemic in the midst of the corona pandemic that occurred in the country. Apart from the daily cases of corona virus infection in Indonesia, which continues to increase. The number of fatalities due to SARS-CoV-2 also continues to grow. In fact, a number of General Election Commission (KPU) officials were also infected with a virus that attacks the respiratory tract. As a result, it is feared that the simultaneous Pilkada which will take place on 9 December will create a new cluster, considering that the Pilkada process is carried out by involving and gathering people. Nevertheless, a number of parties continue to encourage the implementation of Pilkada to continue as it should be with all their considerations.
